Who and why need a website on the constructor
There are several options for creating your own website. Let’s look at them in the order of their historical appearance.
Option 1. For a long time (at the dawn of the Internet) the creation of each new site was the development of a separate software product. The prepared TZ (on the structure and functionality of the site) was transferred to the programmers, and they wrote scripts (programs) for it from scratch in order to: a) the site work in accordance with the approved functionality, b) the site owner could quickly change its contents. The more functional requirements there were, the longer and more expensive the site was designed. In addition, each programmer wrote the code as he could, and sometimes other programmers could not understand this code.
Option 2. Several years passed, and programmers noticed that for each new site they write in many respects similar programs – after all, the functions of the sites often coincide. At this stage, CMS – site management systems appeared. These are sets of ready-made programs that give the site standard functions (site display, sending messages, placing orders, etc.), and also allow you to manage this site (change its content). Here, the programmer needs to install the CMS on the site (as you put the programs on a regular computer) and configure it – enter the design into the site template, create the necessary sections and pages, configure the main and additional functionality.
Option 3. After some time, the developers offered an even simpler version of creating the site – to assemble your site directly in the browser from ready-made blocks (which is why the name “designer” appeared). In this case, a person can create a site without the help of programmers.
Wait, do not rush to dismiss their programmers and switch to site designers. At the moment, designers offer a very wide range of functions, including for online stores (especially when compared with designers 8 years ago). But still these functions may not be enough for your site. Here you need to look at what opportunities gives a specific constructor.
Total, what we see now:
Option 1 (development from scratch) is rarely used, mainly for non-standard projects.
Option 2 (site on CMS) – the main version of the site.
Option 3 (site on the designer) – not very popular in the commercial sphere, at least in comparison with option 2. The reason is that the first designers were far from ideal. There were few functions available, few options for the design and structure of the site, it was impossible to make changes to the code or appearance, there were serious problems with seo-optimization and speed of work. And although today many of these problems have been successfully solved in terms of the designers, but as they say – “the sediment has remained”. A year ago, we ourselves did not recommend our clients to create sites on designers.
Today we will try to “reanimate” the opinion about website constructors and tell in more detail about cases when website creation on a constructor is more expedient than on a full-fledged CMS.
Immediately make a reservation that we are not talking about free designers. Creating a website without any costs is almost impossible. Here we are talking about paid designers and those cases where the cost of paying a designer is lower than the costs of creating a site on a CMS and paying for the work of programmers.
So let’s go.
Case 1. One-off transaction
Page on the designer for recording to the event
This is when you need to sell a product or service (or draw attention to a specific event) only once. Agree, it would be strange to spend 1-2 hundreds of thousands to create a site for the sale of one plot (or one apartment), and after the sale just to delete this site.
A distinctive feature of such projects is that the traffic to them comes from advertising (from contextual advertising, from advertising in social networks, from thematic mailings) or from specialized portals (for example, from bulletin boards), but not from organic search engines.
Therefore, in this case there is no task to promote a new site in search engines.
And the functionality of the site will be pretty simple. You will need to place text with contacts, a slider with photos, a form to send an application, and perhaps a few more pages with more detailed technical descriptions.
So, the task is to quickly and inexpensively create a small website with simple functionality that should be understandable and convenient for users (but without regard to search robots).
The site constructor is quite suitable here, the costs will be as follows:
Domain name. You can use the name that the constructor will form by default – it will be level 3 and may not be very “beautiful”:

If it is important for you to have a normal readable domain name (for example, to print it on business cards), then buy a separate domain, pay 200-600 rubles per year.
